A student visa (D-2) is required to study in Korea if a student is not of Korean nationality. You will then receive a confirmation email with updated KU information sheet as well as a link to KU’s new online application.
Once the student’s application is approved, the ‘Admission Package’ will be sent to the exchange coordinator of the student’s home university, not to the individual student.
Students can submit a copy of Private Health/Insurance and Certificate of Health at the time of online application submission or after they have been admitted.
Notice: Only when KU receives the copy of the private health insurance, the students will fully be admitted to KU.

1. INSURANCE

All incoming students coming to study at KU must provide a copy of their private health insurance that is valid from the moment they leave their home country until the time when they return home from Korea.

2. ACCOMMODATION

On campus

On-campus accommodation is available but limited. Students are advised to apply as soon as the online application is open as rooms are allocated on first come first serve basis. The residence office will contact the students via email for full payment.
Most of the rooms are shared room. All on-campus accommodation is located within 20 minutes of walking distance from the main campus.

Off campus

There is a wide range of off-campus housing available near the campus within 5-10 minutes’walking distance. Most of the rooms are small but en-suite so many students prefer to stay off-campus. Today, the Seoul Campus, located in the heart of Seoul, comprises 21 undergraduate colleges and 15 graduate schools that offer a diverse range of programs. The Glocal Campus in the city of Chungju, Chungcheongbuk-do, consists of six undergraduate colleges and two graduate schools. As of 2014, a total of about 25,600 students study at the two campuses and abroad (i.e., through Konkuk’s study abroad programs), an enormous growth compared to the student population of 1950 which was only 146.

* If you are applying for an alien registration card to secure off-campus housing prior to the beginning of the semester, you can substitue a certificate of tuition payment for a certificate of enrollment.
