ABOUT COURSE

full-time load: 13 Credits for a semester (undergraduate)
1 Credit = 45 hours of workload (15hours of class hours)
1 Course = 1-2 Credits
Minimum course enrolment for exchange students: 13 credits per semester (undergraduate)
Maximum course enrolment for exchange students: None, but consultation with academic advisor is required.

APPLICATION

1. NUMBER OF PLACEMENTS

Approx. 30 students for JYPE and IPLA; Approx. 20 students for COLABS. The accurate number depends on the MOU.
*The maximum number under the MOU is not always guaranteed, due to the capacity of each program, or if we are unable to find suitable academic advisor for the prospective student etc.

2. DEADLINES

Spring semester: December 1(except JYPE)
Fall semester: March 10

3. REQUIREMENTS

JYPE, IPLA, and COLABS require high English proficiency, although we do not require a specific test score.
Special Auditing Students in DEEP are required to have Japanese language proficiency (JLPT N1 Level).

DAILY LIFE

1. INSURANCE

Students are required to enroll in “National Health Insurance” , “National Health Insurance” and “Personal Liability Insurance for Students”. The fee is 1,700 JPY/month, 1,000 JPY/ year and 1,040 JPY/ semester repectively.

2. ACCOMMODATION

On campus

4. VISA REQUIREMENTS

Students must apply for the visa using the CoE in Japanese embassy/consular office in their contury before their departure for Japan.

5. SCHOLARSHIPS

Exclusively for Graduate students from Shanghai Jiao Tong, we can offer 100,000JPY as “Fostering of Global Human Resources”program (up to 10 students per year): Copy of MoU attached.
JASSO Scholarship (80,000JPY/month) are available for the students for eligble students (GPA more than 2.3/3.0)
